The painting is a composite of many recurring flying dreams and depicts the 
last portion of those dreams, in which the dreamer is always caught and forced 
down. The painting "Restriction" reflects the despair felt when the 
personality is not free to develop; when a person is held in the grip of fear and 
self-doubt, and is held back by imagined limitations. Here Jupiter's expansive power 
is diminished and Saturn's restrictive influence is fully activated.
